Mr. Bhagia's Residents

The Baghia residence, a 1500 sq.ft home, situated in Powai, Mumbai, was designed with all the family’s requirements and needs in mind. After analysing all the needs, a conclusion was drawn that the over-all home should have a modern-contemporary look to it. Each space was designed to look timeless as well as functional at the same time. While navigating the house, you will come across a resemblance between interior, art and architecture.

LIVING ROOM
A Conversational abstract artwork and a minimal console table greet you as you enter through the grand entrance. Moving forward, you enter the seating area, which is defined by the lush, real-silk rug by Cacoon Carpets. The play with vivid colours, exotic granite for the TV wall, and a small amount of matt gold in the centre, gives the space an opulent look and feel. Comfort is also considered while planning by adding a magnificent recliner sofa set by Natuzzi.
On the other side of the living room is a dining area with a cheery yellow crockery unit to liven up the space. The lighting by Abby and the postal-tone Italian marble flooring help bring these two well-defined spaces together to form one space.

MASTER BEDROOM
While planning for the master bedroom, two things were acknowledged. One was to have neutral and earthy tones for a subtle look and feel whilst having the minimum forms. Cool grey tones are used for the walls, with neutral beige furniture to give it a tranquil feel. A subtle pink is introduced for curtains to give the room a pop of colour and avoid a plain look.

DAUGHTER’S BEDROOM
For this modern but eclectic themed room, a feminine blue with black was chosen as the colour scheme. To avoid any gloominess due to the colour scheme, the bed and side table were finished with white PU for a vibrant effect. However, to introduce black into the room, the cupboard was finalised to be matt back painted glass and the bold floral wallpaper behind the bed. The engineered wooden flooring brings the room and its colour scheme together.

GUEST BEDROOM
For this room, a colour scheme of blue and brown was considered, with a neutral-toned cupboard and curtains to balance out the darkness. A busy wallpaper is used behind the bed to create an accessorised look. It is again finished off with engineered wooden flooring for a grand effect.
